Brandi’s Kitchen Ep 11: Sweet Cranberry Citrus Green Smoothie

All week long, I have been enjoying this beautiful, delicious, winter-loving green smoothie! So, I made a video of me preparing the smoothie to share with the world!

This green smoothie is perfect for individuals who are new to green smoothies and it is very kid-friendly. The smoothie is pretty sweet, so you can add more greens if you like. In fact, you can comfortably put at least 1/2 lb of spinach in this smoothie! In the video, I used about 6-7 ounces of spinach, which is almost 1/2 lb; however, I could have easily added 2-3 more cups! This recipe makes 1 quart of smoothie!

Substitutions

* Use chard or beet greens instead of spinach
* Use whole apple and grapefruit of instead of juicing
* Use dried prunes or currants instead of raisins

Enjoy!

    1. Debbie,

It is so funny, because I don’t do a lot of spinach smoothies. However, I am starting to do a few more now. I have some spinach in the fridge that I am still working through. If I had to choose between greens, I would go for collards and kale over spinach just because they have more bioavailable calcium than spinach. However, it is important to eat a variety of foods, so spinach is in!

    1. I knew Dean very well when we were younger. He was a good at BMX rincag, very keen on trailbike riding then he was a good skater, then a very good bassist in his band. I use to run into him every now and then at Magic Dirt gigs. He was always friendly. I have not seen him for a while, but was a great shock to see he had passed away in our local newspaper. Miss you Dean.
