Sweet Cranberry-Citrus Green Smoothie (Video)

All week long, I have been enjoying this beautiful, delicious, winter-loving green smoothie! So, I made a video of me preparing the smoothie to share with the world!

This green smoothie is perfect for individuals who are new to green smoothies and it is very kid-friendly. The smoothie is pretty sweet, so you can more greens if you like. In fact, you can comfortably put at least 1/2 lb of spinach in this smoothie! In the video, I used about 6-7 ounces of spinach, which is almost 1/2 lb; however,  I could have easily added 2-3 more cups! This recipe makes 1 quart of smoothie!

Substitutions

  • Use chard or beet greens instead of spinach
  • Use whole apple and grapefruit of instead of juicing
  • Use dried prunes or currants instead of raisins

    I love this recipe Brandi!! What program are you using for the nutritional analysis? I make green juices and green smoothies every day and have been wondering what the values are of them. Thank you!

      Brandy, I use Now You Are Cooking! 5.85 software (costs $25), which utilizes the USDA database. Keep in mind that you cannot accurately do a nutrition analysis on green juices because you don’t always know what is and is not being extracted. However, green smoothies are fine because everything is being blended. -Brandi

      I’m in although I’m not sure I can meet the 2 cups of vgeeigs before breakfast challenge will have to get creative when I make out my grocery list and the eight cups of water per day will be tough unless it includes tea and coffee 30 min. exercise per day is no problem. Hey I’m willing to give it a try!!!
