Keep your recipes SIMPLE!

The more ingredients you add to a recipe, the more expensive it gets. Itโ€™s really that simple. Plus, when there are too many ingredients, itโ€™s difficult to enjoy the flavors of the individual ingredients, and often, we end up preparing something that tastes too complex.
Consider taking a complex recipe and making it simple. A friend of mine is a pro at this. She likes to take raw food recipes that require fancy ingredients like Irish moss and lecithin, and not use them. This, of course, changes the texture of the recipe because these ingredients are used as thickeners; however, I have found that the recipe tastes just as good.

So the next time you are looking through your raw recipe books, ask yourself if you can make these recipes simpler.

  1. If you find some ingredients on cookbooks hard to find, you can always use a substitute for them. It would actually depend on your taste. As for me, I always prepare a simple veggie salad. Carrots, lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes plus the salad dressing that is made up of ketchup and mayo. Voila! I got one nice salad for dessert! ๐Ÿ™‚
