Want a quick way to improve the flavor of your raw food meals?
Use fresh herbs whenever you can! Fresh herbs like basil and dill can enhance the flavor of any recipe…and they can even make your recipes extra fancy!
And this is perfect time of year too! Right now, you can purchase fresh herbs like basil, dill, cilantro, etc. for low prices (e.g. $1 or less a bunch) from your local farmers’ market. Or, you can easily grow them yourself. Many herbs like oregano, thyme, and sage come back year after year in your garden!
Take advantage of these herbs and add them to your recipes. Try, mincing a few leaves of basil and dill, and adding it to your salad! Or, slice a few leaves of basil and sprinkle it on top of your raw spaghetti. One of the key ingredients in my popular raw spaghetti is the fresh basil I sprinkle on top!
And be sure not too waste your herbs. Try to use them on a regular basis, and if you have some leftover, freeze (in ziploc bags) or dry them. You can use the frozen herbs to make sauces and crackers.
