An effective but rarely used budget technique!

It’s already June 10th and can you tell me how much money you spent on food this month? Don’t worry, most people couldn’t! In fact, I just found out how much I spent this month (I use Quicken), and let me just say that I am already on the road to going over budget. So, I decided to add another level of consciousness to my budgeting by using cash for all of my food purchases.

It’s funny because it’s a pretty simple budget strategy, yet so few people actually do it. Try it. Calculate how much money you have left in your food budget for June, and then withdraw that amount (in cash) from your bank account. Use this cash for all of your food purchases until the end of the month.

I just did it and I already noticed that I am cutting back on miscellaneous food purchases. I know that I only have $168.98 left for 20 days, so it is forcing me to make better decisions! Try it and let me know what happens!

Also, enrollment for the upcoming 28 Day Raw Foods on a Budget Boot Camp opens on Monday! More information is below!
